Mandatory food safety license for any business involved in food manufacturing, processing, storage, distribution, or sale.
FSSAI License is mandatory for all food business operators (FBOs) under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Three types: 1) FSSAI Registration (turnover up to ₹12 lakh/year) - basic registration, 2) State License (turnover ₹12 lakh to ₹20 crore) - issued by state authorities, 3) Central License (turnover above ₹20 crore or specific categories) - issued by FSSAI directly. The license displays the FSSAI logo and license number, which must appear on all food products.
