PM POSHAN (formerly Mid-Day Meal Scheme) provides cooked meals to children studying in Classes I-VIII in government and government-aided schools, EGS/AIE centres, and Madarsas under SSA. The scheme covers 11.8 crore children across 11.2 lakh schools. Cooking cost per child per day: ₹5.45 (Primary) and ₹8.17 (Upper Primary).
