About the Scheme

Startup India is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, launched on 16th January 2016. It aims to build a strong ecosystem for nurturing innovation and startups in the country that will drive sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities. The initiative provides tax exemption, self-certification compliance, fund of funds, and fast-track patent examination.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 1Entity must be incorporated/registered for not more than 10 years
  • 2Turnover for any financial year must not exceed ₹100 crore
  • 3Entity should be working towards innovation, improvement of products/services
  • 4Entity should not be formed by splitting up or reconstructing an existing business
  • 5Must obtain DPIIT recognition
